World Cup Results 1986-1996

A friend of a friend recommended that I post here -- apologies if this isn't the right place. I'm an American (sorry, I only speak English) putting together a database of every World Cup result. Once I've gotten all of the data, I'm going to post it to my personal website and make it free for anyone to download, and will eventually include statistics about the best results from each country or person, for example.

I've had to dig very deep to find the results that I have, and a long search has resulted in many results still missing. I have every result except for the following, sorted from "most missing" to "least missing:"

Top ~10 only:
- 1996 Aug 4, Norway (Event 6)
- 1994 Aug 14, Denmark (Ev. 6)
- 1994 Sep 29, Czech Republic (8)
- 1990 Sep 30, Switzerland (6)

Top 20-30:
- 1994 Aug 10, Norway (4): top 25
- 1994 Oct 1, Czech Republic (9): top 25
- 1986 May 1, Norway (1): top 25
- 1986 Jul 12, France (4): top 20 with times, top 25 without times
- 1986 Aug 7, Czechoslovakia (6): top 25
- 1986 Aug 10, Hungary (7): top 25
- 1986 Oct 5, Switzerland (8): top 20

Top 30-40:
- 1992 May 9, Sweden (1): top 37
- 1992 May 13, Finland (2): top 37
- 1992 May 16, Russia (3): top 37

Top 40-50:
- 1990 Oct 3, France (7): top 44
- 1990 Oct 6, (Fed Rep.) Germany (8): top 44
- 1988 Sep 10, Sweden (8): top 45

Top 50+:
- 1992 Aug 20, Austria (5): top 51
- 1992 Aug 23, Italy (6): top 51

I've tried reaching out to many people, and I'm starting to think many of these results aren't anywhere on the internet and may only be in magazines that I don't have access to. If you could help me find these results I would be very grateful.

Hi Danny, I have revised the Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orienteering_World_Cup but I still lack references for the year 2007-2011. Do you happen to have this information, please reply here or to folke(at)ambiprospect(dot)com

Hi, I am writing about orienteering both on svWikiPedia and enWikipedia . Having just updated the 2025 medalists, I am really impressed of your ambition to identify more than top 3 which is the present Wikipedia state. If you look at the References you will see many sources declared as permanent dead links which I like to investigate and try to correct. Therefore I am very happy to find someone nerdy as me.

I have, but their results are iffy; I've found at least two instances where their results are just wrong -- probably from some other event, and their numbering is often wrong too. I should clarify that the 1996 event 6 was a relay, not the classic, which was event 5; seemingly another error on that website.

It's not a huge help but you have checked out http://runners.worldofo.com/races.html ?

They at least have the full results for WC 1996. The other years you are looking for unfortunately not.
